A sneak peek of something else for you. Haven’t photographed the final garment yet but I will update when I get around to it
A cupped corset, high waisted knickers and headpiece, all featuring lace appliqué, inspired by regal clothing and undergarments of the Elizabethan era.
Savour it because it’s unlikely that you’ll see lace on my page again haha!

Part of my marketing work to accompany my swimwear. An imaginary styling spread for Glamour Magazine. I chose Glamour for their appreciation for women of all shapes and sizes and their choice to step away from excessive airbrushing in their magazine - something which hopefully appeals to Curvy Kate’s clientele.
All credits on here are correct other than the swimsuits and bags, which obviously are mine!
I got into the the top 15 in my class, which I’m pleased with.
Very happy for the totally deserving winner, Charlotte Watson - keep your eyes peeled for her in the future!
Will post some photos of my entry soon, but for now I’m allowing myself a lazy afternoon :)
Hellooo, not sure when you sent this as I accidentally clicked on my inbox and there are a couple of messages I had no idea about!
Anyway, as for the question! My year didn’t have a summer project at all but I think the year above had to do some kind of sketchbook if I’m correctly informed and I know that the girls in first year had one before they started. Theirs was to find a nice set of underwear (though come to think about it, it wouldn’t necessarily have to be sold as a set), unpick it all, make patterns from this and remake it. I think they had to do a sketchbook to go with it to sort of aesthetically inform what their remake looked like. It was a pretty cool project actually and even if you’re just applying and are unsure where to start building your knowledge, making patterns from deconstructed garments is a great way to start, especially if you can get hold of some sale items! I’m pretty sure they weren’t graded, it really was just an exercise to get them going. And remember the sample sizes are size 12 bottoms and 34B for bras :)
Does this mean you’re a secret potential first year?
Also, I’m not sure why but tumblr just won’t let me reply to this so my lovely anonymous person, you are now a text post x
Fabrics and trims for Swimwear :) Really happy with how my fabric turned out and everything’s sitting together nicely right now
If anyone else has a preference of the four prints I just posted, do let me know. I’m a very indecisive person!
